“WHY ARE YOU HERE” and “NO THING TO DECLARE”… The call and response of these two statements, embedded within this set of works, are reference to an unspoken subtext that permeates there, and broadly in one’s life’s journey. Four paintings on one side of an escalator, facing four paintings on the other, propose a codified inner dialogue within the thoughts of a traveler.
